sliding gate

This sliding security gate was installed by Newgate at a school near Derby. The initial and main reason for a gate was security. With the area, at the school, in which the gate was to be installed being so tight, it was decided that, our Type 3 sliding gate would be the best solution. After extensive collaboration between the school, MUF Architects and Newgate’s design office the gates unique infill was arrived at. The sliding gate has a special infill boxed section. The staff and children from the school decorated this section to show the school’s name. Children and staff from the School were very enthusiastic when they came to our premises to see the final stages of the manufacture, of their sliding gate.

twin turnstile

This illustration shows an installation by Newgate for Scottish and Southern Energy. With the increasing need to secure and monitor access and exit by personnel to various sites, many clients have shown interest in Full Height Turnstiles. The Twin Rotor Full Height Turnstile is in a galvanised finish which makes it suitable for the exposed location. The Turnstile installation has been designed with infill panels, to fit into the existing fence line. Within the infill panels are special tool box hatches. The Turnstile unit is complete with integral weather canopy and downlights and has a 120° rotor configuration. The Turnstile is bi-directional using a card reader for control of both entry and exit; the tool box hatch release is linked to the turnstile lock system and is also bi-directional. Lockable galvanised swing gates are installed in the outer fence to protect the turnstile and associated equipment when turnstile is not in use.

This attractive and recent installation by Newgate, shows a communal entrance to several properties. To be in keeping with the surrounding area, we have used a semi-decorative bar infill with arrow head capping, for both the electric vehicle swing gates and the semi-automatic pedestrian gate. The electric vehicle swing gates have an electro-hydraulic ram operation controlled by radio control open with loop safety/close on entry and loop control open with loop safety/close on exit. The semi-automatic pedestrian gate has a keypad unlock open with self-closing and locking on entry and push button open with self-closing and locking on exit.

Luton University is the setting for these Road Blocker Barriers. The university was experiencing a problem; their grounds were being used, as a race track, by young drivers. Newgate installed one entry only Rising Kerb and one exit only Rising Kerb on the main entrance and one entry/exit Rising Kerb on the rear entrance. The strong and durable design of the Rising Kerb and its reliability provides a perfect solution for this problem. It offers high level security against unwanted vehicle access. Access control is by pedestal card reader for authorised user to the site or intercom/push button for visitors.

A recent installation, by Newgate, for RWE, at Ferrybridge. Illustration shows, Newgate Challenger traffic barriers complete pvc curtains, stop signs and boom lights. Along with the barriers is a Full height single rotor turnstile to allow pedestrian access.

This is not a typical lane layout. The layout has been designed, with the help of Newgate’s expert Sales Engineers after consultation with RWE. The problem of access, to the site, by wide load vehicles has been overcome by allowing the entry barriers to be operated independently, with a video intercom connection to security and push button control. Authorised access is permitted by card readers.
