Road Blockers

Our Road Blockers and Rising Kerbs are the perfect solution to prevent unwanted vehicle access and will deter the most determined intruder. They are ideal for both manned and unmanned vehicle parks.

Manufactured from a welded hollow steel section frame and durbar top plate, our Road Blockers and Rising Kerbs feature a hydraulic power pack and drive ram system to raise and lower the unit smoothly.

Our Rising Kerbs and Road Blockers are available in two grades, 3 tonne and 12 tonne, and seven sizes, and are all finished in a galvanised and fully painted environmental protection system.

Available in two sizes 2.0m and 2.5m, the Hydraulic Rising Kerb is capable of withstanding axle weights of three tonnes (Type A).

The 3 tonne Road Blocker has a 3.0 second opening time and an ‘optional’ Manual Hand Pump for Raise, accumulator for rapid opening (1.0 sec).

A state of the art programmable logic controller co-ordinates the hydraulics, access control and traffic light signalling system. During power failure, an emergency lowering facility is incorporated as standard with all our 3 tonne Road Blockers.

A variety of access control options are available including, proximity card, radio, token, keypad and intercom. These combined with induction loop or photocell safety and close facilities, ensure the 3 tonne Rising Kerbs open and close smoothly on each activation.

British designed and manufactured, all our 3 tonne Road Blockers and Rising Kerbs conform to BS6571 and are UKCA Approved. Controlled via a powerful hydraulic pump and drive ram system, under the control of its own PLC.

Our 3 tonne Road Blockers and Rising Kerbs are perfect for use within car manufacturing plants, car park entrances and exits, car dealership forecourts, restricted access routes, shopping centres and hotels.

Our Drawing and Design offices use the latest in 2D, 3D & FEA computer aided design software to ensure each product ordered by the client is drawn and manufactured to exact requirements.

When drawings have been approved, Newgate fabricators manufacture the product ready for paint shop submission, and to any BS/RAL colour requested by the client. Mechanical and electrical assembly is carried out by our qualified (to current industry standards) and time served engineers at our purpose built premises, based in Nottinghamshire.
