How To Get Around A Trief Kerb

Published: 27th January 2020

Rising Arm Barrier

Newgate’s ‘’Heavy Duty’’ Barrier has been around (although developed regularly) for 35 years – its Motor and Gearbox Drive, complete with Inverter Logic Control, has been copied by our competition over the years, but never bettered.

This Barrier can carry our Hi-Bar Curtain assembly (pictured), up to a Span of 6500mm, but you cannot have a gap between the bottom of the Curtain and the roadway as that defeats the object of the exercise in installing this Curtain assembly.

So what do you do when a Barrier sits on a Trief Kerb?

You adapt (bond / stop / shape) the Curtain to suit – fiddly, but if done properly, looks quite good, and still functional.
