If you are looking to automate your sliding gate, then Newgate can retrofit our industry leading sliding gate drive units to provide you with a robust and automated security solution.

Our range of sliding gate drive units are available for any type of sliding gate, regardless of the style or construction.

Our Type 1 and 3 sliding gate drive units are 100% duty rated, with various options for operating speeds and power supply as well as optional accessories including fire alarm activation, audible alarms, visual beacons, magnetic locks and HSE Signage.

We have two distinct types of sliding gate drive unit, the Type 1 and Type 3. Both types of drive include manual override control as standard and conform to the latest industry standard of BS EN 12453 when used in conjunction with other safety devices.

Our electric Type 3 unit is suitable for domestic and lightweight gate applications, up to a mass of 1000kg.

Our Type 1 motor gearbox drive units are suitable for heavier and more industrial gates up to a mass of 4500kg.

When selecting the correct sliding gate drive unit for the application, the installer must undertake a risk assessment of the existing equipment and or proposed installation.

The installer must allow for force testing the gate system and to include additional safety features, such as safety edges, photo cell beams, health and safety signage and guarding as necessary.
