Bridge over the River Kwai? Humberside actually!
This pair of challenger rising arm barriers were installed near to The Deep in Hull to control pedestrian traffic. This is not a typical installation, as our usual bridge barriers are our heavy duty model with spans up to 8000mm and are fully loaded with bottom skirt, lights, signs etc.
A similar pair of the smaller challenger barriers have been installed on the pedestrian bridge at Scarborough harbour, north Yorkshire. These have been installed for many years and have had some stick, being coastal on the north sea, it gets a bit blowy up there in the winter.
