This one set of manually operated road plates were designed and installed for the Enviroco Site in Sheffield. They incorporated hydraulic rams for damping and return action.
They are certainly a nicely engineered piece of kit, but we wouldn’t want to build another set. They were installed to replace a conventional rubber sleeping policeman, which clearly couldn’t cope with the demands of the traffic of the site Traffic.
What are more commonly available these days, are these ‘’alligator teeth’’, a vast improvement on the ‘’usual’’ one way road flaps, that always seemed to lay flat.
